Police arrest wanted felon after negotiation

A situation between law-enforcement officials and a wanted felon was resolved earlier this week following a two-hour negotiation process.

According to a media release from the Centreville-Constantine Police Department, a search warrant was executed at a Centreville apartment. Officers were attempting to locate a man with multiple felony and misdemeanor warrants.

Authorities said the man had been evading law enforcement for several months.

With the assistance of deputies from St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department and officers from Three Rivers Police Department’s K9 unit, the man was eventually taken into custody after he opened the front door to his residence, officers said.
