Retired road commission managing director receives award

John Lindsey, recently retired managing director of the St. Joseph County Road Commission, was honored by the County Road Association of Michigan with a Distinguished Service Award at the 2026 CRA Highway Conference in Lansing.

Distinguished Service Awards recognize road agency staff and commissioners who have dedicated their time and service in an outstanding manner to the advancement of the county road and bridge system in Michigan.

Lindsey joined the St. Joseph County Road Commission in 2010 as director of fleet and facilities.

In 2018, he was named managing director, a role he held until his recent retirement.

During his tenure, Lindsey’s leadership was instrumental in modernizing operations and strengthening the agency. He led the consolidation and remodeling of outdated facilities, identified new and efficient funding sources, and expanded countywide communication and cooperation.
