Park Township residents will be asked whether to support a millage request dedicated to local road improvements.
Township board members recently agreed to move forward with an August 4 request to seek four-tenths of a mill for improvements to Moorepark Road, and portions of Parkville and Thompson Lane, among others.
Park Township had funding through a local road millage from 2021 through 2024, but township residents declined to renew the funding in 2024.
The requested amount would generate more than $100,000 in its first year and allow the township to put the money toward the county road commission’s 50/50 match program.
Township officials said roughly $250,000 is dedicated annually to roadwork within the township.
