Tina Marie Hancock, age 63, of Sturgis, passed away Friday morning, April 10, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born June 3, 1962 in Sturgis, daughter of the late Dave and Bonnie (Spearow) Smith.
Tina resided most of her life in Sturgis, with the exception of eight years she spent living in Florida. She was a dedicated and hardworking woman throughout her life. Tina had been employed by Creative Dining at Abbott Laboratories. She also proudly owned and operated Michael’s Restaurant in Burr Oak and previously worked at Coachman Industries and THOR Industries.
Tina was known for her strong work ethic and her enjoyment of life’s simple pleasures. She loved playing bingo, and had a special place in her heart for animals, showing them great compassion and care.
She is survived by her children: Brittny (Bryan) Boshoven of Portage, Ashleigh (Marvin) Walls of Bristol, Indiana, David (Lindsay) Parsons of Sturgis and Daniel Parsons of Burr Oak; grandchildren: Dade Parsons, Koen Parsons, Keegan Krebs, Brooklyn Walls, Braxton Walls, Bentley Walls, Maliyah Boshoven, Preston (Kacie) Boshoven and Severyn Kandlstorfer; two great-grandchildren; brother: Brian (Linda) Smith of Florida; sisters: Kimberly (Jay) Douglas of LaGrange, Indiana, Penny Waltke of Sturgis and Lorraine Carter of Burr Oak; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her stepfather, Dan Stoppenbach.
In honoring Tina’s wishes, cremation has taken place. No services are planned.
The Hackman Family Funeral Homes of Sturgis is entrusted with the arrangements.
