Julie E. Hollister, age 64, of Bronson, went to the loving arms of Jesus after a hard fought illness on Sunday, May 24, 2026 surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She was the youngest of 6 children, born on September 7, 1961 in Sturgis to the loving parents, Donald R. and Kathleen E. (Reed) Hollister.
She enjoyed farm life and loved school. She felt challenges were just part of life’s grand adventure. High School is where she thrived. She participated in the school musicals and plays, played the trombone in the band, and sang in the acapella choir. FFA fit her like a glove. She had great respect for “Smitty” the Ag Teacher. She traveled to the National Convention in St. Louis, and was voted in as the first female President of the Bronson Chapter. She also graduated from BACC in their Culinary Program. In 1980 she graduated from Bronson High School. The adventure continued- all the way to Texas.
She met and married Bobby McCormick and became a stepmom to his daughter, Kara. Together they had Nicholas and Camren. They moved back to Bronson. With balancing family and a career, Julie graduated from Glen Oaks Community College with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Business Administration and Management. She served as President of Phi Theta Kappa and was a Student Government member. She held bookkeeping and office managerial positions including, the Village of Burr Oak, Murphy Oil, and the Coldwater Country Club. Later built her career as the Village Office Manager for the Village of Colon. Julie remarried after a time and welcomed 5 additional children to the family.
The last several years she enjoyed life outside the office. She was on planning committees, involved with the Polish Festival, a teammate on the women’s bowling league, as well as the reunions for the class of 1980. Julie loved to travel. She loved seeing new sites and the history of it. She went as often as she could, with family and her Amish friends. She had collections, she could find beauty in the simple, rocks and shells were her absolute favorites. She loved card parties, dancing, and her fur babies. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, niece, aunt, cousin, and friend with a smile as big as the sky and a laugh that was larger than life.
Julie was preceded in death by her parents, Donald R. and Kathleen E. (Reed) Hollister, brother Tommy Lee, and brother-in-law John Clark.
Julie is survived by her children: Nicholas (Christa) McCormick, Camren McCormick all of Bronson, and Kara (Tony) Rubino, of Fort Worth, TX.
Grandchildren: Kyra, Lukis, Mayce, Tristen, Gracie, Corbin, Jonathan, Jordyn, Mikayla and her wonderful additions: Eric, Heather, Eddie, Bryan, Adam and their beautiful families. Siblings: Kris Clark, Rick Hollister, Randy (Marsha) Hollister all of Bronson, Beth (Phil) Eckert of Burr Oak. Aunt: Dorothy Keller of Battle Creek, MI, Uncle: Tom (Donna) Reed of Tulsa, OK.
The Family would like to invite you to the Celebration of Life for Julie on Sunday July 19, 2026 at the Burr Oak Missionary Church from 2 to 6pm.
