Martin Haney, 66

Martin Andrew (Marty) Haney, age 66, of White Pigeon, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, May 17, 2026, wrapped in the immense love and devoted care of his family.

He was born March 23, 1960 in South Bend, the son of John and Marilyn “Toots” (Wood) Haney. Marty graduated from Constantine High School with the Class of 1978 and went on to study Art History at Eastern Kentucky University where he proudly played college baseball. His deep knowledge and lifelong passion for the sport never faded, and he remained a dedicated, die-hard Chicago Cubs fan throughout his life.

Marty later worked in sales and home design. Beyond his professional life, he was an extraordinarily talented artist, expressing his unique perspective and creativity through his artwork. He also cherished the simple joy of playing cards, especially sharing competitive games of pinochle with his brothers and family.

Above all, Marty adored his family. He spent many years living with and caring for his beloved mother, Toots, with whom he shared a deep, unbreakable bond. In his final weeks, Marty was comforted by the exceptional strength, and hands-on devotion of his brothers, and sister-in-law, who ensured he was surrounded by peace and dignity.

Remaining to cherish his beautiful memory are his older brother, Ed Haney, and his wife Lynn; his younger brother, Craig Haney, and his spouse Orlando; his daughter, Cayla Haney; and his dear friend and ex-wife, Carla. He is also survived by his cherished nieces and nephews: Erin (Mike) and Ryan (Stephanie), along with their children, who brought great joy to his life.

Marty was preceded in death by his adored mother, Marilyn “Toots” Haney, and his father, John Haney.

In accordance with Marty’s explicit wishes, cremation will be conducted and no formal services are planned. His family will privately celebrate his life, his art, and the enduring bond of brotherhood.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Hohner Funeral Home.
