Sturgis Area Community Foundation is planning to relocate its headquarters to a historic site in downtown Sturgis.
Foundation officials said plans are in the works to renovate the building at 104-through-106 North Nottawa Street. The process will involve restoring the building to also include shared space for nonprofit organizations, business and partners.
The project is the first noteworthy investment of the newly established SIA Community Impact Fund, a charitable fund dedicated to supporting community and economic development throughout the county.
Anna Brand, interim executive director of the Foundation, said the renovation reflects a long-term commitment to investing in the people, partnerships and places that strengthen the community.
SIA Community Impact Fund was created in October through the partnership between Sturgis Area Community Foundation and the Sturgis Improvement Association.
