Yvonne Marcella Yager, age 70, of Sturgis, passed away peacefully at her home Monday afternoon, May 11, 2026. She was born September 6, 1955 in Muskegon, daughter of the late Emmanuel and Evelyn (Casteel) Yager.
Yvonne made her home in Sturgis since 2019 after relocating from Muskegon. She retired in 2015 from Alcoa Howmet Aerospace Carriers in Whitehall following more than 30 years of dedicated employment.
Yvonne found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved tending to her flowers and gardens, decorating her home, and creating a warm and welcoming place for family and friends. She was also a devoted and lifelong Detroit Tigers fan who rarely missed a game and proudly cheered for her team through every season.
She is survived by her daughter: Jamie Ann (Norman) Allen of Sturgis; son: Sean (Josh Baker) Christie of Lansing; grandsons: Drake Allen and Garrett Allen both of Sturgis; sisters: Judy Yager of Holton, Emma (Harry) Armstrong of North Muskegon and Rosetta (Jens) Eskildsen of Muskegon; brother: Mennen Yager of Muskegon; and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers: Loren Yager, Harvey Yager, Richard Yager and Tennyson Yager.
In honoring Yvonne’s wishes, cremation has taken place. No services are planned.
The Hackman Family Funeral Homes of Sturgis is entrusted with the arrangements.
