Here’s a reminder that the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department is conducting boater-safety practice classes this week.
One session took place Wednesday at Clear Lake and Lake Templene. The second is 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at Klinger Lake and Palmer Lake public-access sites.
Sheriff Chad Spence said the sessions are designed for individuals who already possess a valid Boater Safety Certificate, and would like additional hands-on instruction and guidance to safely operate their watercraft.
Participants must provide their own boat. Each instructional session will be scheduled individually in approximately 20-minute blocks to allow deputies to provide personalized safety guidance and instruction.
