Dennis Bohm, 91

Dennis L. Bohm, age 91, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2026. He was born on April 13, 1935, and throughout his long life he lived with quiet strength, steady purpose, and a deep care for the people around him. Dennis was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend whose presence brought comfort and stability to his family and community.

Dennis shared 72 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Joyce Bohm, and together they built a life centered on faithfulness, family, and hard work. He was a loving father to Deb Bohm, Wendy (Don) Shuler, Rick Bohm, and Ray (Dawn) Bohm.

He was a proud grandfather to Frank, Erica, Emily, Jim, Brandy, and Cinnamon, and a cherished great-grandfather to Oliver, Stella, Clara, Charlotte, Rhea, and Lilly. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart, and they treasured the time they spent with him. One of the fondest family memories was making and sharing Christmas cookies with Grandpa, a tradition that made family gatherings so meaningful. Those moments reflected the kind of grandfather he was, patient, kind, and always ready to enjoy the company of the children he loved.

Dennis is also survived by his sister, Darlene Thompson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond F. and Lucille Bohm; his daughter-in-law, Sue Bohm, and by his brothers, Bill, Ron, and Phil.

A longtime and respected member of the Centreville volunteer fire department, Dennis served as a fireman for over 50 years. His dedication to this work reflected his sense of duty and his willingness to put others before himself.

His years as a fireman were a testament to his strong character and his commitment to helping others in times of need. He earned the respect of those he worked alongside and the gratitude of the community he served so faithfully.

Outside of his service, Dennis enjoyed hunting and woodworking, two interests that suited his patient and steady nature. He appreciated the peace of the outdoors and the satisfaction of working with his hands. Whether he was spending time in the woods or crafting something in his workshop, he approached these pastimes with the same care and attention that he brought to every part of his life. His woodworking reflected his skill and creativity, while his love of hunting connected him to the traditions and quiet moments he valued.

Dennis will be remembered for his empathy toward others, his honesty, and his integrity. He was the kind of man others could trust, and his word carried weight because it was always spoken with sincerity. He showed compassion in ways both large and small, and his example left a lasting impression on his family and friends. His life was one of service, devotion, and steadfast character, and his memory will continue to bring comfort to those who loved him.

Though his passing leaves a deep void, Dennis L. Bohm’s life was richly lived and deeply cherished. His family and community will remember him with love and gratitude for the many years he shared with them.
