David Roger Webb, age 70, of Sturgis, passed away on August 29, 2022 at his home.
He was born March 3, 1952 in Sturgis, son of the late Leslie Donald and Susan M. (Christensen) Webb.
Dave was a lifelong Sturgis resident and graduate of Sturgis High School with the class of 1970.
He retired from the NCR Corporation following many years of dedicated employment. At the time of his retirement he held the position of Field Service Engineer and Manager. He had also been employed by the Sturgis Public Schools as the Technology Coordinator for several years.
Dave was proud to have served his country in the U.S. Navy from September 13, 1976 – September 10, 1980 earning the rank of FTM2 Fire Control Technician (Surface missile Fire Control) Petty Officer 2nd Class serving aboard the USS Berkley.
Dave was a very active member of Neuman-Wenzel Post #73 American Legion where he was a past Adjunct Commander. He was also the Road Captain for the Legion Riders and member of the Patriot Guard. He was an avid bowler and pool player.
He is survived by his children: Sarah Webb of Florida, Robert (Angela Ruehl) Webb of Morrow, Ohio and Nathan (Kristin) Poley of Mason; five grandchildren: Allison, Caitlin, Emily, Maria and Anthony; two brothers: Stephen Webb and James Webb both of Sturgis and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law: Cheryl Webb.
In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. Family and friends will assemble at the Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 114 S. Nottawa St. in Sturgis beginning at 9:30 A.M. Wednesday, September 14th with a departure time of 10:00 A.M. for procession to Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta where a graveside service will begin at 11:30 A.M. Full military honors will be conferred by Captain John J. Kelley Post #1355 VFW Honor Guard and the U.S. Navy Honor Guard. A continued time of fellowship and the celebration of the life of David Roger Webb will begin at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 14th at the American Legion Post #73, 500 W. Chicago Rd. in Sturgis.
