Cass County Sheriff Clint Roach shares news of the passing of a department employee fondly known as “Dispatch Mom.”
Kelly Jerue died last week.
Roach said the 53-year-old 911 Central Dispatch employee cared for everyone equally, and was known for her guidance, support and compassion.
A Hartford High School alumna, Jerue worked for the agency for nine years, previously spending more than two decades in the healthcare field.
She was also a 23-year member of the Decatur-Hamilton Quick Response Team.
Funeral services are next week in Decatur.
