Pedestrian hit by car in Sturgis

A pedestrian was struck by a car last week in Sturgis.

According to the Sturgis Department of Public Safety, officers were dispatched shortly before 7 p.m. Thursday to the intersection of East Chicago Road and Pioneer Street.

Authorities said the pedestrian was crossing East Chicago Road and was struck by a passing vehicle. The pedestrian was treated at Sturgis Hospital, then airlifted to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo.

Information about the driver, the victim’s age and gender were not included in a department media release.
