Glen Oaks Community College has announced the hiring of Sam Waniewski as men’s basketball head coach for the 2025-26 season.
School officials said Waniewski’s experience and reputation for scouting, recruiting, skill-development and academic oversight made him stand out during the search process, which began in late September.
He has helped guide the Vikings to a 2-0 start this year.
Glen Oaks Athletic Director Devin Wilburn said the school is thrilled to welcome Waniewski to the Glen Oaks family. He said Waniewski’s vision aligns perfectly with Glen Oaks’ commitment to developing well-rounded student-athletes and building a competitive program that represents the college and community.
Waniewski most recently served as head women’s basketball coach and men’s assistant coach at Southeast Arkansas College.
