Martha I. Yoder, age 72, of LaGrange, passed away Monday afternoon, November 17, 2025, at The Waters of LaGrange.
She was born January 21, 1953 in Sturgis, daughter of the late Kenneth D. and Esther E. (Ballard) Yoder.
Martha resided in Scott, Indiana, from 1986 until 2024 when she moved to LaGrange. Her early years were spent in the Burr Oak area. She was a devoted homemaker and a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Sturgis. Martha had a lifelong love for animals, especially her cats, and cherished time spent with her family.
She is survived by her sisters, Marilyn Yoder and Phyllis Yoder, both of LaGrange; and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Kenny Yoder.
In honoring family wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service celebrating the life of Martha I. Yoder will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, November 24th, at Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis. The Rev. Doug Noonkester of First Baptist Church of Sturgis will officiate. A graveside committal of the remains will follow at Burr Oak Cemetery.
