Carolyn Emma Breece, age 94, of Three Rivers, passed away peacefully at Optalis Health and Rehabilitation in Three Rivers on Saturday, January 10, 2026.
She was born on July 6, 1931 in Three Rivers, the daughter of Olin Raymond and Elivo Heath (Clark) Reames. Carolyn was a lifelong resident of the Three Rivers area. In March of 1948, she married Weller Breece at the Three Rivers Nazarene Church, where she attended for years.
Carolyn was one of the first residents to live at Kline’s Resort, where she greatly enjoyed golf cart rides and socializing with friends during her years there. She was a talented and creative woman—an artist who loved painting, decorating cakes, sewing clothing, and making costumes. She was an excellent cook and took pride in everything she created.
She enjoyed playing card games such as Bunco, Canasta, Hand and Foot, and any card game. Carolyn loved flowers and found joy in flower gardening. Above all else, family meant everything to her. She deeply loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, who truly meant the world to her. Her son, Miles, lovingly cared for her in his home for many years and would always make a point to bring her wildflowers when he would visit her.
Carolyn is survived by her children: Miles Breece of Three Rivers; Mark Breece of Alaska; and Christine Breece of Florida; ten grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and her sister, Shirley Vanzile of St. Joseph.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her former husband, Weller Breece; and her siblings: Florence Baker, Mae Loeffler, Geraldine Heckleman, Beverly Roberts, Eugene Reames, Wardell Reames, and Edsell Reames.
The family will receive guests on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Ray Funeral Services, 305 Rock River Avenue, Three Rivers, Michigan 49093, (269-278-1515). Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Pastor Derl Keefer officiating.
Cremation will follow the service and a burial of cremated remains will be at a later date at Riverside Cemetery in Three Rivers.
