Gemma M. Magnani, age 92, of Sturgis, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. She was born on May 26, 1933 in Routa, Italy, a daughter of Basilio and Elisa (Francioni) Mei. Gemma came to the United States at the age of 17, and later became a citizen. In 1953 she married Ralph Magnani, he preceded her in death in 1985. Gemma worked at AB Dick Company in Illinois for many years. She enjoyed gardening, playing poker, cooking, and crocheting blankets for her family.
Surviving Gemma are her children Barbara (Robert Rodgers) Johnston, Sturgis, Michael (Phyllis) Magnani, S. W. Harbor, ME, Steven Magnani Tinley Park, IL; grandchildren Staphanie Smith, James (Amanda) Dysart, Ralph Magnan; great grandchildren Alexis Ellis and Malia Dysart. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and siblings.
