Kenneth T. Brandys, age 84, of Maple City, and formerly of Mendon, passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2026.
Kenneth was born on May 24, 1941 in Chicago, the son of the late Theodore and Genevieve (Noga) Brandys. He was raised in Factoryville and spent the majority of his life living in St. Joseph County. Kenneth graduated from Colon High School with the Class of 1960. He later moved to Wellston and eventually settled in Maple City.
On May 18, 1963, Kenneth married Rita J. Wing in Mendon. They shared 46 years of marriage before her passing on December 12, 2009. Kenneth later married Charlotte Wisniewski on June 23, 2012, in Maple City, Michigan.
Kenneth worked for 24 years at American Axle in Three Rivers, retiring in 2004. He was a member of the Three Rivers Elks. Kenneth enjoyed woodworking, horses, camping, fishing, tractors, farming, traveling, and especially spending time with his grandchildren.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Charlotte Brandys of Maple City; his children, Brett (Shelley) Brandys of Wellston, Tim (Kim) Brandys of Centreville, and Tammy (Laurie Snyder) Brandys of Three Rivers; grandchildren, Stephanie (Mitch) Lewman, Kristen Brandys, Colin (Kara) Brandys, TJ (Randa) Brandys, Alaney (Jacob) Miltner, Keith Brandys, and Kyle Brandys; great-grandchildren, Peyton, Wyatt, Willow, Henley, Desmond, Zoe, Quinn, and one on the way.
He is also survived by his stepchildren, Kathy (John) Andary, Jason (Monique) Bellant, and Kevin (Stephanie) Bellant; step-grandchildren, Nick, Claire, and Jack Andary; Jordan, Robbie, Brady, Preston, Xavier, Mason, Mitchell, Emilee Bellant, Alex Bellant and Christina (Jordan) McDaniel; and great-grandchildren, Audrey and Aspen McDaniel.
Kenneth is further survived by one brother, Jim (Olga Brezden) Brandys of Three Rivers; two sisters, Noreen Androsky of Three Rivers and Harriet Harter of Zeeland; brother-in-law Ronald Wing of Colon; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Rita J. Brandys; and brothers-in-law, Phil Androsky and Raymond Harter.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial visitation will be held at Schipper Funeral Home, LTD., in Colon on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. A private interment of ashes will follow at Lakeside Cemetery in Colon.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 at the UAW Hall, located at 15802 Hoffman Rd., Three Rivers, following the interment.
