Charles Duane Osbon, age 72, of Sturgis, passed away Friday morning, January 16, 2026, at his home following a hard-fought battle with cancer.
He was born September 28, 1953 in Sturgis, the son of the late Gerald “Jerry” and Virginia (Rice) Osbon. Charlie was a lifelong Sturgis resident.
Charlie retired from Coachmen–Forest River, Inc., following more than 40 years of dedicated employment.
He enjoyed fishing, gold mining, playing computer and video games, watching alien movies, and most anything on the History Channel. Charlie was a true homebody who cherished the time spent with his family.
He is survived by his life partner, Nancy Lipko of Sturgis; his children, Justin (Cheryl) Osbon of Wayland, Jason (Lisa) Osbon of Three Rivers, David (Courtney) Osbon of Lima, Ohio, Aaron (Wilhelmena) Lipko of Albion, and Jonathan Lipko of Sturgis; his grandchildren, Sarah, Audrey, Susan, Decker, and Jane; his brother, David Osbon of White Pigeon; his sister, Brenda Leonard of White Pigeon; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Sandra Palmer and Barbara Jean Osbon.
In honoring Charlie’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial graveside service and interment of his cremated remains will take place at Sturgis Memorial Gardens at a later date in the spring.
