Sharon June Detwiler, age 86, passed away on Monday, January 12, 2026, at Three Rivers Health.
She was born on June 13, 1939 in Decatur, Michigan, the daughter of Chester “Chet” and Dorothy (Adams) Smith. In the late 1950s, Sharon married Stanley Detwiler.
Sharon devoted 47 years of service to the United States Postal Service, where she proudly worked as a driver. From the largest semi-trucks to the smallest delivery vans, she handled them all with confidence and skill. A lover of music, she could often be found tapping her foot on the gas pedal while driving.
A devoted Christian, carried her faith with her throughout her life. In her younger years, she enjoyed riding horses and fishing up north. She had a sweet tooth and an even sweeter heart. Family meant everything to Sharon—her children and grandchildren were truly her world. Known for her generosity and kindness, she was a good-hearted person who would give you her last dollar if you needed it.
Sharon is survived by her daughters, Laurie Paro of Decatur, Michigan, and Melody Decker of Three Rivers; eleven grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Ken Detwiler, Sr.; her grandson, Ken Detwiler, Jr.; and her sisters, Sandy Rininger and Jennifer Hoover.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Sharon’s life will be held at a later date.
