June Madelyn Cooley, age 97, of Crawfordville, Florida, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2026. She was born on June 16, 1928 in Fabius Township, Michigan, to Harley and Effie Swartz.
June spent most of her life in Three Rivers, where she built a home centered on faith and family. In 2000, she moved to Zephyrhills, Florida, and in more recent years resided in Crawfordville.
June was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a long-time member of Bethany Chapel in Three Rivers, where she faithfully served as the church pianist for many years. At the time of her passing, she was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Zephyrhills.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harley and Effie Swartz; her husband, Franklin Cooley; her brother, Lewis Swartz; her sister, Thelma Howard (Swartz); her daughter-in-law, Rena Cooley; and her granddaughter, Malena Cooley.
June is survived by her children Bruce V. Cooley (Ruth), and Scott A. Cooley (Traci), grandchildren Kevin, Kalya, Kyle, Karl, Madelyn, Nolan, and Olivia, as well as her great-grandchildren, Clara and Asher.
June found great joy in gardening and treasured the time she spent surrounded by her family. Her warmth, dedication, and steadfast faith will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held on January 13, 2026, at 12:30 p.m. at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
