Mary Raifsnider, 89

Mary Frances Raifsnider, age 89, of Middlebury, died on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at her residence. She was born on July 22, 1936 in Sturgis to Raymond and Mildred (Atkinson) Parks.

On July 3, 1955 in LaGrange, she married Jack Raifsnider. He died on July 31, 2011. Surviving are brother-in-law, Jim Cameron of Stryker, OH; two nephews, James II (Vicki) Cameron of Stryker, OH, Andrew Cameron of IL; niece, Cathi Schlosser of Stryker, OH; and her adopted family of Vernon and Elva Weaver of 44 years: Glen (Linda) Weaver, Wilmer (Mary) Weaver, Freda (David) Yutzy, Ella (Melvin) Yutzy all of Shipshewana, Alice (Glen) Bontrager of LaGrange, Ida Weaver of Middlebury, Katie (Merle) Miller of Goshen, David (Betty) Weaver of LaGrange, Joan (Joe) Troyer of Shipshewana, Vernon (Norma) Weaver Jr. of Middlebury. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two sisters, Yulonda Cameron, Rosalee June Parks; and adopted family members, Vernon and Elva Weaver, Martha Weaver, Floyd Weaver, and Carolyn Miller.

Mary worked in Three Rivers at GTE for 29 years, retiring in 1986. She worked in several different positions being the first lady ever to hold each position. She also worked at the Essenhaus Inn as a clerk and in the restaurant and as a bookkeeper for W. Weaver & Associates for 25 years. Mary was involved with a Ladies Bible Study Group and a member of the Reformation Church in Middlebury. She had a fascination and a love of ladybugs.

Visitation will be from 3:00 to 8:00 on Monday, February 16 at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 South Main Street, Middlebury. Funeral services will be at 1:00 on Tuesday, February 17 at Reformation Church, 203 E. Lawrence St. Middlebury. Services will be conducted by Pastor Brad Miller. Burial will be in Keightley Cemetery, Shipshewana. Memorials may be given to Middlebury Food Pantry or Reformation Church.
