Sturgis will host United Way Box Out Cancer basketball event

St. Joseph County United Way has issued a reminder related to its annual “Box Out Cancer” high school varsity basketball event and fundraiser.

The 2026 contest takes place Friday at Sturgis High School, where a varsity basketball doubleheader against Three Rivers is scheduled.

At 5:30, the Lady Trojans will tip-off against the Lady Wildcats. Then, at 7 o’clock, the boys squads between the same schools will take the court.

“Box Out Cancer” supports breast cancer awareness and the United Way’s Breast Cancer Fund. The event will also include a silent auction and bake sale, with all proceeds turned over to the Centreville-based agency.

Doors open at 4 p.m.
