Lewis Patton, age 50, of Three Rivers, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 16, 2026 at Three Rivers Health. He was born in Auburn, IN on June 19, 1975 the son of Lewis Patton and Leesa Chapman. Lewis lived life to its fullest potential; spending most of his time outdoors. He would often be spotted fishing at the Three Rivers Dam or at any creek in St. Joseph County, reeling in the fish all day. Camping with his family/friends and mushroom hunting was something he always looked forward to. Lewis and his mountain bike have created some memorable moments through the years, running errands around town in the snow, leaving tire marks in random locations, and yes, parking the bike in the living room to keep it safe during the cold months. He was a family-oriented man; always lending a helping hand, calling his sister Jamie 400 times during the day, spending time with his grandchildren, and keeping things interesting as much as possible. His cooking skills were unmatched, especially his desserts! Lewis loved all kinds of music, but he had one rule, to listen to it loudly. His best buddy in the whole world, Thor, will miss him greatly.
Lewis is survived by his mother, Leesa Chapman; four children; Ricky (Erika) Patton, Olivia (Joseph) Mullen, Lewis Mullen, and Nevaeh Mullen; four grandchildren; four siblings; Jamie Patton, Marco Patton, Bobbie (Joseph) Freeman, and Gwyn (Zach) Henderson; and many nieces, nephews, and extended families. He was preceded in passing by his father, Lewis Patton, Sr.; his aunt Jene Fogleson; and his nephew, Marco David Patton-Chapman.
In keeping with Lewis’ wishes, cremation is being conducted. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at 1pm at New Beginnings Church (63022 M-66, Sturgis, MI 49091) with Pastor Randy Evans officiating. It is suggested that donations made in Lewis’ memory be made to his family. Condolences and memories may be expressed to his family at eickhofffuneralhome.com
