Colon man sentenced in attempted robbery case

LaGrange County officials said a Colon man was sentenced last week to nearly four decades in prison.

Gregory Kurzawski was convicted of attempted robbery and attempted aggravated battery following incidents in January 2024.

LaGrange County Superior Court officials said charges of attempted murder, and drug and firearms possession were dismissed in exchange for the guilty pleas. Court officials said Kurzawski pleaded guilty but mentally ill.

Kurzawski’s arrest followed incidents in the 6800 block of North County Road 270 East and later at the Howe Dollar General Store on State Road 9.
