SJC United Way raised $1.2 million dollars in campaign

St. Joseph County United Way fell just a bit short of its goal for its Campaign 2026.

During the agency’s annual victory celebration Wednesday in Sturgis, St. Joseph County United Way board members announced the 12-month drive netted $1,212,232. The figure was about $65,000 shy of the goal for the year.

Victory Celebration is an annual gathering, staged as a way for the agency to acknowledge fundraising efforts and those who contributed.

Morgan Olson was far and away the top company donor for the year. Its amount was more than $137,000. The top four business donors after Morgan Olson were TH Plastics, American Axle Manufacturing, Abbott Nutrition and the city of Sturgis.

Campaign 2027 honorary co-chairs are a group of Colon women: Jan Eichel, Jill Groenendyk, Paige Smolarz, Becky Stauffer, Linda Tomlinson and Ann Vinson.
