Gailord Schrock, 88

Gailord Don Schrock, 88, of Constantine, died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010, at Three Rivers Health Hospice.

He was born Sept. 6, 1921, in White Pigeon, a son of Clarence and Gladys (Hathaway) Schrock.

He had been a Constantine area resident since 1970, coming from White Pigeon and Mottville Township.

He was a 1939 graduate of White Pigeon High School.

On Nov. 27, 1964, he married Dorthy V. Hull.

He was employed at Willow Run B-24 bomber plant during World War II and at White Pigeon Paper Mill for 40 years, retiring in 1983. He was also a farmer and owner-operator of the Indian Prairie Motel in White Pigeon.

He enjoyed golf, bowling, yard work and gardening, but most of all his family. He spent winters in Florida and in 2005 drove from Constantine to Alaska with his son.

Surviving are his wife, Dorothy V. Schrock of Constantine; two sons, Donald (Donna) Schrock of Constantine and Dennis (Sara) Schrock of Martinsville, Ind.; two daughters, Jody (Jeff) Komis of Union and Gail (Gary) LeVan of Constantine; a stepdaughter, Frances (Jamie) Rohrbacher of Catawba, N.C.; a stepson, Robert (Judy) Wolgamood Jr. of Constantine; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Elva Mowat; and a brother, Leonard Schrock.

Visitation is 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jeremy LeVan, pastor of Epic Missionary Church of South Bend, Ind., officiating. Burial will follow in White Pigeon Township Cemetery.
