Sharon Herrmann, 80

Sharon Lee Herrmann, age 80, of Sturgis, passed away Wednesday evening, April 1, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born August 12, 1945 in Hillsdale, daughter of the late Richard John and Lila (Lyons) Gemmill.

Sharon had resided in Sturgis since 1963, coming from Hillsdale. She left from Patterson’s Supper Club in Sturgis following 20 years of dedicated service as the restaurant’s head waitress. After leaving Patterson’s Super Club, she and her husband, Ed, owned and operated Herrmann’s East Side Food Shop for many years.

While working at Patterson’s, she met the love of her life, head chef Ed Herrmann. They were united in marriage February 8, 1965, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sturgis, officiated by Rev. Herbert Heidenreich.

Sharon was a graduate of Sturgis High School with the Class of 1963. She enjoyed puzzles and diamond art and was happiest sitting on her deck, listening to old-time rock and roll while sunbathing. Sharon deeply valued family, and her home was the heart of countless holiday gatherings where traditions were shared, laughter was abundant, and memories were made. Above all, she cherished the time she spent surrounded by her family.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 61 years, Ed Herrmann of Sturgis; daughters, Candy (Eric) Bohacz of Sturgis and Beth (Steve) Carter of Novi; grandchildren, Dillon Herrmann, Jessica Herrmann, Branden Bohacz, Tyler Bohacz, Brooklyn Carter, Alyssa Carter, and Cam Carter; several great-grandchildren; sister, Laurel Groat of Panama City, Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Scott Herrmann; and sisters, Brenda Dingwitz and Marsha Worthing.

In honoring Sharon’s wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis, where a short prayer service and sharing of memories will immediately follow at 7:00.  The Rev. Rodger Moyer will officiate.
