The first of two Styrofoam recycling collections this year in Sturgis will be held this weekend.
Polystyrene products include foam cups, to-go containers, egg cartons, ice chests, rinsed meat trays, and protective packaging often used in electronics shipping and other products labeled with a No. 6 recycling code.
The collection takes place 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the city compost site on East Fawn River Road.
Event organizers are issuing a call-out for volunteers. Anyone interested in lending a hand is asked to call 659-7223.
The second collection of 2026 will take place Oct. 10.
