Nancy Doron Burg, age 84, of Sturgis, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2026, at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo.
She was born July 26, 1941 in Sturgis, daughter of the late Ronald and Dorothy (Lone) Kirby, Nancy was a proud lifelong resident and a graduate of Sturgis High School with the Class of 1959.
On April 15, 1989, she married the love of her life, Edward Millard Burg, at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Sturgis. Their nearly 37 years together were filled with love, companionship, and many shared adventures.
Nancy retired from the Kirsch Company in Sturgis following 31 years of dedicated employment. During her time there, she worked in several departments including as a switchboard operator, in timekeeping, the Data Center, and customer service. After retiring, she worked side by side with Ed at Burg Advertising. She took great pride in operating the crane and was never shy about saying she was “darn good at it.”
Nancy had a deep love for the lake, a passion she passed on to her daughters and grandchildren. She and Eddie cherished time spent kayaking, paddle boating, pontooning, or simply sitting together on the deck with a cup of coffee, enjoying the beauty of nature. She also loved traveling with Eddie and found great joy in teaching and playing chess with her grandsons.
