David Brian Arbogast, age 69, of Sturgis, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, April 14, 2026. He was born on August 2, 1956 the son of Lester and Etta (McMichael) Arbogast. On January 28, 1984 David married the love of his life, Vickie Goodwin in LaGrange County.
David loved the outdoors and spent as much time as he could enjoying nature. He was an avid fisherman, casting away in any lake, river, or pond he could find. He loved mushroom hunting, looking for morels any chance he had, especially when he and Vickie traveled to Cadillac. David was a master tinkerer, constantly working on projects, and creating small trinkets that he would gift to those closest to him. Yes, his masterpieces would be held together by JB Weld, but how else can a guy create an extendable laugh at a bonfire!? David enjoyed country music (the good kind), loving on his favorite dogs (Toast, Daisy, and Roxie), playing billiards, and spending time with his family.
David is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Vickie; two daughters; Kristina (Zac) Curran and Shaddah Bowers; two grandchildren; Bently Huff and Kaydence Holtz; two siblings; Mike Arbogast and Bob Arbogast; and many nieces, nephews, and extended families. He was preceded in passing by his parents; Lester and Etta Arbogast; and four siblings; Arlene Arbogast, Dianna Hahn, Richard Arbogast, and Larry Arbogast.
Visitation for David will take place on Sunday, April 19, 2026 from 12pm until 3pm at the Eickhoff Funeral Home (311 W Main St., Mendon, MI 49072). Following visitation, cremation will be conducted.
