Michael Rae Bowersox, known to many as Mike, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2026, in Three Rivers, at the age of 78.
He was born on September 5, 1947 in Sturgis, and lived a life marked by humor, warmth, and a spirited nature that touched the hearts of those who knew him. Mike was the kind of person who could brighten a room with a quick wit, a friendly smile. He carried himself with a genuine kindness and an easygoing manner that made him a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
Mike is survived by his wife, Rosalee Bowersox, who shared in his life’s journey and stood beside him through the years. He also leaves behind his children, April Hurley and her husband Kris, Skeet Bowersox and his wife Angie, and Skip Bowersox and his wife Erin. He is also survived by his stepdaughter, Lori Pyron and her husband Edwyn, as well as seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, all of whom brought great joy to his life. His family was one of his greatest sources of pride, and he treasured the time he spent with them.
He is also survived by his siblings, Bob Bowersox and his wife Louisa, and Martha Reed and her husband Lynn. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Yvone Bowersox, as well as his siblings, Marie Smart and Bud Bowersox, and his stepson, Gary Knapp.
Those who knew Mike will remember his funny nature and the way he could bring laughter into ordinary moments. His spirited outlook on life reflected a man who met each day with energy, character, and a strong sense of self. Whether sharing stories, spending time with loved ones, or simply enjoying the company of others, Mike left behind memories that will be treasured for years to come.
His life was one of devotion to family and the simple joys that make a lasting difference. He will be remembered for his laughter, his kindness, and the steady presence he offered to those around him. Though his passing leaves a deep loss, the love he gave and the memories he created will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
Michael Rae Bowersox will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of humor, friendliness, and spirited love for life remains in the many lives he touched.
Memorial services for Mike will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, May 14, 2026 at the Corey Church of the Nazerene, 10056 Water St., Three Rivers, MI 49093.
