Kalamazoo County Household Hazardous Waste facility will be open Saturday.
Through an agreement with Kalamazoo County, St. Joseph County residents are able to patronize the drop-off site at no cost.
The collection center is open just one Saturday a month, in addition to Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays weekly.
Hours this weekend are from 8 a.m. to noon.
Items accepted at the site include televisions, computer equipment, household hazardous waste, fire extinguishers, cooking oil, automotive products and household batteries.
The facility is located in the vicinity of Kalamazoo County Fairgrounds property, at 1301 Lamont Ave.
Meanwhile, residents in Schoolcraft Township are invited to a paper-shredding event from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the township office on VW Avenue. The service is free for township residents.
In addition, Schoolcraft Township will host an electronics recycling event for its residents on May 16.
