Kelsey Boals, 44

Kelsey Irene Boals, age 44, of Sturgis, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2026, at her home. She was born on October 12, 1981 in Sturgis, daughter of Nathan and Sara (Notestine) Pendleton.

Kelsey was a lifelong Sturgis resident. For more than four years, she had been employed at Adapt, Inc. in Sturgis as a caregiver to physically and mentally impaired individuals. The position was especially fitting for Kelsey because of her compassionate and giving heart.

Kelsey had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and enjoyed going on walks and spending time at the beach. She also loved movies and was known to binge-watch her favorites whenever she had the opportunity. Kelsey was a talented writer of poetry, and above all else, her daughters and two grandchildren were the center of her life.

She is survived by her three daughters: Mikayla Boals, Aaliyah Boals, and Keonah Boals, all of Sturgis; cherished grandchildren: Avianna Camarena and Luka Peralta; parents: Sara and Nathan Pendleton of Sturgis; sisters: Brianna Boals of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Valerie Harker of Sturgis; and several nieces and nephews.

In honoring Kelsey’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
