St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department will be conducting boater-safety practical classes on two dates at different locations next month.
On June 6, the course will be held at Clear Lake and Lake Templene.
On June 7, the location will be Klinger Lake and Palmer Lake.
Classes start at 10 a.m. and conclude by 4 o’clock at the public-access site at each lake.
Sheriff Chad Spence said the sessions are designed for individuals who already possess a valid Boater Safety Certificate, and would like additional hands-on instruction and guidance to safely operate their watercraft.
Participants must provide their own boat. Each instructional session will be scheduled individually in approximately 20-minute blocks to allow deputies to provide personalized safety guidance and instruction.
A time slot can be scheduled by phoning the sheriff’s department, at 467-9045, ext. 239.
