The strike at the American Axle plant in Three Rivers may soon be over.
According to CBS Detroit, the United Auto Workers and Dauch Corporation, which now owns the former American Axle facility, have reached a tentative agreement on a new four-year contract after a 10-day strike by nearly 1,000 workers.
UAW Local 2093 Chairman Josh Jager says the proposed agreement would raise workers’ wages to 30 dollars an hour by 2030. The contract also reportedly includes a two-thousand-dollar ratification bonus, additional vacation time, more paid holidays, and no increase in healthcare premiums.
Union members will review the agreement before voting on ratification. Employees will remain on strike until the contract is approved.
