Kevin Lee Malone, 49, of Burr Oak, Mich., passed away Saturday evening, Feb. 20, 2010, at the Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo, Mich.
He was born Sept. 17, 1960, Des Moines, Iowa, a son of Sheldon W. and Jackie (Johnson) Malone.
Kevin was a lifelong resident of Burr Oak and graduated from Burr Oak High School with the class of 1979.
He had been employed by Burr Aluminum, Victor Screw Products and Tube Fabricators all in Burr Oak.
He was attending the Celebration Community Church in Sturgis. Kevin enjoyed playing darts and collecting hats. He loved spending time and playing with his many nieces and nephews and babysat each one of them over the years.
He is survived by his mother; Jackie Malone of Burr Oak; one brother, Ken (Suzanne) Malone of Sturgis; two sisters, Karen and Kelly (Dan) Fitzgerald of Constantine; 10 nieces and nephews, Michael, Daniel, Megan, Tiffany, Halen, Joey, Zack, Brady, Angie and Kieran; great-nieces and nephews, Kaden, Lane and Kenadie and his honorary siblings, Sue and Brian Winchester of Mendon and their daughter, Samantha.
He was preceded in death by his father.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Hackman Family Funeral Homes Rosenberg Chapel, 807 E. Chicago Rd., Sturgis, MI 49091, (269) 651-3284. A graveside service and burial will take place at the Burr Oak Cemetery in Burr Oak, Wednesday at 11 a.m. The Rev. Barry Sommerfield of the Celebration Community Church in Sturgis will officiate.
