Ronald “Ron” Lee Bernheisel, age 66, of Three Rivers, passed away on Monday, March 1, 2010 at Three Rivers Health following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on Feb. 11, 1944 in Centreville, MI. the son of Delbert and Grace (Parker) Bernheisel.
Ron attended Climax and Centreville Schools. Following school he was employed at Denton Mills, Wheel Campero, and eventually retired from the Fonda Com. On May 15, 1964 he married the love of his life, DiAnn Bucknell at the Three Rivers Bible Church. Together, they attended New Beginnings Church in Sturgis.
Ron truly enjoyed hunting, fishing with family, riding his motorcycle, attending all band and sport activities of his grandchildren, walking with his wife and walking to McDonald’s in the morning to meet for coffee with friends. He loved attending Three Rivers home football games.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Linda Waldorf, one brother, Kenneth Bernheisel and his in-laws, Joe and Helen Fornaresio.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving family, wife, DiAnn, of Three Rivers, two daughters, Chantel Bernheisel, of Three Rivers, and Gina (Tony) Goodrich, of Marcellus, two special grandchildren, Remington and Lynley Goodrich, of Marcellus. Two sisters, Lottie Swartzentruber, of Mendon, and Pat Martin, of Union City; one brother, Earl (Terri) Bernheisel, of Leonidas; sister-in-law, Jeanie Bernheisel, of Nottawa, Sharon Bristol, of Constantine, Angie Keith and John Huston, of Three Rivers, and Marcia (Tom) Ruggles, of Constantine. Brother-in-law, Richard (Trudy) Fornaresio, of Madison Heights; very special aunt, Bernice Clark, of Centreville; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 5, 2010 at the Hohner Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at the Hohner Funeral Home, with Randy Evans officiating.
Interment will be held in Riverside Cemetery.
