Catherine C. Kline, age 93, of Sturgis, passed away Feb.28, 2010, at Sturgis Hospital.
She was born Dec. 26, 1916, in Sturgis, a daughter of the late Henry and Mamie (Crane) Akney, and had been a resident of Sturgis most of her life.
On June 29, 1935, she married Walter R. Kline at Holy Angels Catholic Church. He passed away Jan. 25, 1985.
Catherine was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church. She was a homemaker and enjoyed crocheting blankets for babies at the hospital and those in need, and also enjoyed volunteer work.
Surviving are a daughter, Sylvia (Larry) Welborn of Sturgis; a son, Kenneth (Helen) Kline of Acworth, Ga.; six grandchildren, Barbara (Mike) Glide, Kristina (Bill) Virus, Larry (Ann) Welborn Jr., Melanie (Jon-Paul) Andrews, Kevin (Marisa) Kline and Karen Kline; 12 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Beatrice Daggett, Bertha Bowdish, Maxine Suski and Jenny Palumbo; and a brother-in-law, Robert Kline.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Karen Sue Remenap; a granddaughter, Teresa Remenap; and 12 brothers and sisters.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the Hackman Family Funeral Home Rosenberg Chapel, 807 E. Chicago Road, Sturgis, where a rosary service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday.
A funeral Mass celebrating the life of Catherine Kline will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Holy Angels Catholic Church, with the Rev. Fr. Richard Altine celebrant.
Graveside services and interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
