Kathryn Peckinpaugh, 62

Kathryn Elaine Peckinpaugh, age 62, of Frostproof, FL and formerly of Mendon, died Sunday Feb. 28, 2010 in Sebring, Fl. She was born in Marion, IN on Dec. 31, 1947 the daughter of Boyd and Orpha (Bender) Botkin. She was married to Larry Peckinpaugh on Jan. 3, 1964 in Marion, and they moved to Michigan in 1970. Kathy had attended both Glen Oaks and Kalamazoo Valley Community Colleges. She was involved in the banking business for over twenty five years, initially with Old Kent Bank and retiring from First National Bank of Three Rivers as a Vice President.

While living in Mendon, she attended Crossroads Missionary Church, sang with The Sweet Adeline chorus, and was a member of the Eastern Star. Following her retirement, she enjoyed social gatherings with former bank employees calling themselves The Moles. Kathy enjoyed quilting, gardening, cooking, and any activity involving her family.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Larry; three children and their spouses, Lisa & Jeff Coniglio of Three Rivers, Greg & Billie Jo Peckinpaugh of Centreville, and Mark & Lisa Peckinpaugh of Cincinnati, OH; five grandchildren, Amber and Aaron Coniglio, Dustin (Andrea) Peckinpaugh, Brooke and Jake Peckinpaugh; two sisters, Susie (Larry) Donaldson and Rhea Smart both of Marion, IN; a brother, Boyd Botkin, Jr. of Indianapolis; several nieces and nephews; and her father in law, Elmer Schott of Frostproof, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her mother in law, Loretta Schott.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, March 7, 2010 at the funeral home with Rev. Rick Schultz, Senior Pastor of Lifegate Church of Shipshewana officiating. Burial will be in Mendon Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to a charity of one’s choice.
