Gilbert R. Slusher, 70, of Mottville Township, died Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at his home.
He was born Aug. 12, 1939, in Mesopotomia, Ohio, a son of Frank and Gladys (Ruswinkle) Slusher.
He had lived in the Mottville area since 1966, coming from White Pigeon. His early life was spent in Ohio.
On March 1, 1968, he married Dorothy E. Winkleman in Sturgis. She preceded him in death Oct. 27, 2009.
He had been employed on a dairy farm, a sawmill, CMI Foundry, Sturgis Foundry and Pioneer Seed Company in Constantine.
He was a member of Mottville Community Church in Mottville.
He enjoyed yard work and spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are a daughter, Lisa K. Slusher of Mottville; a son, Russell D. Slusher of Mottville; his mother, Gladys Slusher of Ohio; two sisters, Ethel (Don) Lethers of Warren, Ohio, and Mary (Richard) Everson of Bristolville, Ohio; two brothers, Lewis (Vicki) Slusher of White Pigeon, Lee (Heirietta) Slusher of Middlefield, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his father; and a brother, Ray Slusher.
Visitation is 1-3 p.m. Saturday at Mottville Community Church. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the church, with Pastor David Bell officiating. Burial will follow at Mottville Township Cemetery.
