Floyd D. “Bud” Krontz, age 60, of Burr Oak, Mich., passed away Thursday, May 20, 2010, at his home.
He was born Oct. 23, 1949, in Fort Riley, Kan., a son to the late Charles R. and Dessie C. (Keith) Krontz.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam.
Bud has been a resident of Burr Oak since 1971 moving from Holland, Mich. He had been employed for Currier Disposal and for several years at Nissley Disposal.
He enjoyed listening to music, watching movies, reading, and collecting knives.
Surviving are three brothers, Charles (Cindy) Krontz of Burr Oak, Earl (Barbara) Krontz of Holland, and Victor “Buzzy” Krontz of Burr Oak; three sisters, Dessie Wyatt of Burr Oak, Dixie (Ivan) Barkman of Bronson, and Vicky (Daryll) Currier of Howe, Ind.; also numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew, Shaun Reaper.
There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. A graveside celebration of his life will take place at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Burr Oak Cemetery with full military honors conferred by the U.S. Army Honor Guard and the Capt. John J. Kelley V.F.W. Post #1355. A dinner and fellowship will follow the services at the Sturgis Eagles Lodge.
