Allan Knevels, 77

Allan Irving Knevels, 77, of Three Rivers, formerly of Des Plaines, Ill., passed away on Thursday, July 8, 2010 at Three Rivers Health following a lengthy and courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He was born on Oct. 22, 1932 in St. Joseph County the son of John C. and Edith V. (Blackstone) Knevels.

Allan graduated from Three Rivers High School with the class of 1950. He served his country stateside as a P.F.C. in Fort Belvoir, Va. from 1953 until his time of discharge in 1955. He was employed for over 25 years for Ben Franklin Stores in Des Plaines, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory one sister, Winifred Zarkin of Fort Worth, Texas; two nieces, Angela Cathey and Deborah Boudreaux; one nephew, David Zarkin; several extended family members.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, July 12 at the Hohner Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 13 at the Hohner Funeral Home, with Pastor Bob Anderson of the Three Rivers Church of the Nazarene officiating.

Interment will be held at Harwood Lake Cemetery.

Memorials may be donated to the Parkinson’s Foundation. Envelopes available at the funeral home.
