Sue Hendricks, 58

Susan ‘Sue” Marie Gowen Hendricks, age 58, of Cobb County, Ga., passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2010.

She was born in Flint and had resided in Cobb County for the past 28 years.

Sue had been employed at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital for 28 years. During that time she attended college and earned her degree in nursing.

She had been a member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church for 28 years. Sue loved to read, visit and spoil her grandchildren and attend church and plays.

Sue was a loving daughter, mother and grandmother. She was selfless and always ready to help a friend in need. She enjoyed writing and making cards for friends and family. Sue will be dearly missed. Psalm 37:5 “Depend on the Lord, trust him, and he will take care of you.”

She is survived by one daughter, Lisa (Gordon) Mosley of Acworth, Ga.; one son, Tim (Amanda) Hendricks of Richmond Hill, Ga.; mother, Geraldine Zarza of Marietta, Ga.; one brother, Larry Gowen; grandsons, Cole Hendricks and Jack Hendricks; nieces and nephews and her beloved dog, Sadie.

She was preceded in death by her father, Urban Gowen and stepfather, Ray Zarza.

A memorial graveside service and burial of the ashes will take place at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis. The Rev. Nathan Barnell will officiate.

Local arrangements are being handled by the Hackman Family Funeral Homes Hackman Chapel of Sturgis.
