Rose DuClos, 100

Rose (Kambol) DuClos, age 100, of Sturgis, passed away early Sunday morning, July 25, 2010, at Thurston Woods Village in Sturgis.

She was born Jan. 2, 1910, in South Bend, Ind., a daughter of the late Tony and Mary (Critolli) Kambol.

Rose had resided most of her life in Sturgis, and was a graduate of Sturgis High School with the class of 1932.

In 1946, she married William DuClos. He died July 25, 1964.

She retired from the Kirsch Company in Sturgis following many years of dedicated employment, and she was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sturgis.

Rose is survived by several nieces and nephews, including Patricia Romine, Helena Pagels, Karl Fox Jr., Charles Darby, Jerry Darby and Thayma Darby, all of Sturgis, and Mike Darby of Richland; and many great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; an infant daughter, Yvonne Marie; three sisters, Sophie Darby, Fammie Fox and Brundy Pagels; and a brother, Charles Kambol.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m.-12:15 p.m. Wednesday at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sturgis.

A funeral Mass celebrating the life of Rose DuClos will begin at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church. The Rev. Father Richard Fritz will officiate.

A graveside committal will follow the service at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis.

The Hackman Family Funeral Homes Hackman Chapel of Sturgis is entrusted with the arrangements.
