Marguerite J. Adamski, 86, of Sturgis, and formerly of Bronson, died Friday, Aug. 13, 2010, at Thurston Woods in Sturgis.
Marguerite was born April 24, 1924, in South Bend, Ind., to Charles and Ida May Walters.
On march 15, 1947, she married Maximilian Adamski. He preceded her in death in 2000.
Marguerite had been a resident of Bronson since 1947, coming from the Leonidas and Mendon area. She also spent a few years living in Battle Creek.
In her early years, she worked at Bronson Reel and Bill’s Steakhouse. She later worked as an inspector in quality control at Federal Mogul in Mendon, retiring in 1980. She then went back to work at Kmart in Sturgis and retired again in 1996.
First and foremost, Marguerite loved spending time with her family. She was known as an all-around people person and a friend to all. She had a love for animals, especially dogs, and enjoyed her house plants and flowers. She was deeply loved by her family and will be sadly missed.
She is survived by a son, Leonard Adamski, of Bronson; daughters Melody (Jeff) Rumsey of Bronson and Karna (Doug) Perkins of Howe, Ind.; Janette “P.J.” Stauffer of Carterville, Ga., Starr (Bob) McCormick of Coldwater and Dawn (Keith) Merkle of Colon; 10 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Penne Adamski Gloor.
Visitation will be held 4-7 p.m. Monday at Dutcher-Kolcz Funeral Home in Bronson.
A service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Brian Lutz officiating.
Interment will be held at Matteson Cemetery in Matteson Township.
