Dewey L. King, age 60, of Three Rivers, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 17th, 2010 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on Feb. 28, 1950 in Elkhart, IN., the son of Dewey E. and Myra E. (Sanford) King.
Dewey served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was employed for ten years at Pace American as a welder. Dewey loved to fish, work on cars and motorcycles, and especially loved his children and grandchildren.
Mr. King was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Crystal, and one sister, Klover Grames.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Dora D. (Mangold) King, whom we married on Oct. 23, 1971.; one daughter, Myra L. (George) Opfer, three sons, Dewey L. King Jr., Cheyenne L. (Mandy) King, and Reggie L. King, all of Three Rivers; two sisters, Gloria Keller, of Marcellus, and Robin (Scott) Procter, of Schoolcraft, MI.; nine grandchildren, George, Jamie, Autumn, Ashley, Noah, Nayleighsha, Jordan, Joe and Justen.
A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at the Hohner Funeral Home, with Pastor Bob Anderson of the Three Rivers Church of the Nazarene officiating.
Military Honors will be conducted under the auspices of the American Legion Hice-Shutes Post #170.
