Henry Wilson, 92, of Sturgis, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010, at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo.
He was born July 9, 1918, in Wolf County, Ky., a son of the late John and Darcus (Montgomery) Wilson.
On Dec. 27, 1939, he married Twyla A. Howe in Hew Haven, Ind. She preceded him in death Jan. 31, 2001.
Henry was a well-known painter and decorator in Sturgis since 1944. He was a member of the St. John Reformed Church in Vera Cruse, Ind., and he attended Sturgis Missionary Church.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and traveling.
Surviving are three daughters, Lois (Kenneth) Broker, Carolyn Cruea and Debra (Mark) Dvorak, all of Sturgis; three sons, Larry (Carol) Wilson, Robert (Sharon) Wilson and Richard (Kathy) Wilson, all of Sturgis; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Eaton of Sturgis and Irene Johnsonbough of Fort Wayne, Ind.; a brother, Wayne Wilson of Sturgis; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a son, Kenneth, in 1983; a granddaughter, April Wilson; two brothers, Bud and Ray Wilson; and two sisters, Blanche Rowe and Josephine Moyer.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Hackman Family Funeral Home Rosenberg Chapel, 807 E. Chicago Road, Sturgis.
Funeral Services celebrating the life of Henry C. Wilson will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bob Renner of Sturgis Missionary Church officiating.
Interment and graveside services will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
