Frank Wallach, 87

Frank B. Wallach died Sept. 21, 2010 at home in the care of his five daughters. He was born March 22, 1923 in Homer City, Pa. He was preceded in death by Millie, his wife of 59 years.

After serving as a Lieutenant JG in the US Navy during WWII he received his undergraduate degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He earned his graduate degree from Western Michigan University. He taught at Mendon High School before leaving in 1963 to begin the Vocational Auto Shop program at Three Rivers High School. He retired as a teacher and Co-op Director for the Industrial Arts Department.

Together Frank and Millie reared five daughters, MaryAnn (Daniel) DeGood of Honor, Barbara (John) Kouchoukos of Schoolcraft, Kathleen (Frank) Sipes of Lawton, Susan Carlock of Midland and Sally (Michael) Allman of Fairfax Station, Va. He was very proud of his 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

In retirement he enjoyed ice fishing, woodworking, traveling and reading. He was instrumental in founding the Clear Lake Improvement Association as well as being active in Fabius Township government.

Frank has been a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The family would like to express appreciation to the Very Rev. Mark Vyverman and the parish for their support during his illness. A private Mass has been celebrated for the family. The family especially appreciates the tender care rendered by Marti Reed and Pam Hooley of hospice. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial Mass at Immaculate Conception Church for the repose of his soul, or a contribution to the Three Rivers Health Hospice Care program.

Interment has taken place at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta.
