Kristine Dee Milliman, age 51, of Sturgis, Mich., passed away Sunday morning, Nov. 21, 2010, at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo, Mich.
She was born May 1, 1959, in Sturgis, Mich., a daughter of Keith and Joan (Rippey) Milliman.
Kris had resided her whole life in Sturgis and graduated from Sturgis High School with the class of 1977. She continued her education at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo where she received a bachelor degree in biochemistry.
She had taught geology at Glen Oaks Community College in Centreville.
Kris was a member of Captain John J. Kelley Post #1355 VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed puzzles, was an avid reader and loved time spent with her family especially the children.
She is survived by two daughters, Justin Marie Smith of Thayer, Missouri and Marylou Richards of Elkhart, Ind.; six grandchildren, Caleb, Kairi, Noah, April, Brooke and Phillip; father, Keith Milliman of Sturgis; sister, Karla Milliman of Sturgis; biological father, LaVern Hackman of Elkhart; niece, Heather Waite; nephews, Adam Boughton and Andrew Boughton; great nieces, Alex, Niriah and Elizabeth; and her soul mate, Mike Kenagy of Sturgis.
She was preceded in death by her mother; and sister, Kathy Milliman.
In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends for a time of fellowship, sharing of memories and a meal from 6-8 p.m. today, Tuesday, at the Captain John J. Kelley Post #1355 VFW, 264 W. Fawn River Rd., Sturgis, MI.
